Organizations faced problems all the time and problems are normal to an organization. It is the duty of managers to solve both minor and major problems in the organization. Policies and other control methods are in place but problems still occur, all managers at all levels of the organization have experienced this. The question what is causing the problem? Where does it come from? Sometimes there are unsolved problems of an organization that made people in charge thought of it as something impossible that can happen.
the infiltration of pressure and interest groups in an organization makes the project and program implementation of the organization difficult. Before we continue I will define pressure groups and interest groups according to their own simple definition in the dictionary. An interest group according to the dictionary is a group of people that seeks to influence public policy based on a particular common interest or concern and a pressure group is a group that tries to influence public policy in the interest of a particular cause. When the presence of these two groups in an organization is present the organization will have difficulty in implementing its program and project because this group is the only concern in their own interests. This group will oppose if the project and programs that are being implemented are not aligned with their interests and cause.No matter how good and great the projects and programs of an organization if it is opposed in some parts of the level of organization, it will not materialize. That is why the popular saying of "it is not what you know, it is whom you know " in other words, you can't find a job if you are not affiliated with a certain organization or individuals cant get a good position in an organization because this group will favor their members for power in lobbying their own interest. These practices have infected organizations making politics very powerful in workplaces. Organizations are being used for their own selfish interests. In some organizations, they are already in control. Sad but true because supposedly opportunities are equal in an organization and the interest of the organization should be the priority. Individual interests are normal because people work to satisfy their needs aligning the interest of employees and the organization will create harmony in the organization. Key Takeaway The existence of any organization today both non-profit, profit, and government organizations are good putting the interest of people first rather than there own selfish interest. However, it is being tarnished with pressure and interest group that focuses on its own interest to protect and preserve their interest. The stronghold of politics in organizations today is not anymore about the interest of the organization, it is the interest of different pressure groups and interest groups that makes the organization bend on its knees and not able to push through there own interest that is for the benefit of the people in the society. Aligning the interest of these groups with organization interest will be difficult and make the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization decrease in some level. The freedom of creating an organization may have brought positive effects to society because it is a form of social control however the negative effect is much bigger than what I have expected it to be. Imagine an organization free from interest and pressure groups perhaps it is easy to manage and run it. If only policy was created to protect freedom perhaps the development of society is faster than it is now. Progress and development are difficult to achieve because of some of the interpretations of policies that do not align with progress and development.
