Being a good teacher is only the first step toward becoming a great teacher. You need effort, time, knowledge, and experience to become a great teacher. You are likely reading this because you are a teacher or aspire to become one. Being a great teacher is not a simple undertaking, which is why I have compiled these tips. 1. Listen Teaching is not about you; it is about the student's acquisition of the subject matter. It is a knowledge transfer from a technological standpoint. The best way to accomplish this is through listening to your kids and allowing them to speak more than you do. There should be interaction between the instructional materials and pupils. 2.Creativity You should be creative regardless of whether you are a teacher, professor, or instructor. Additionally, you should teach students how to be innovative. It is up to you to determine how you will approach this creative strategy. Teach kids not only critical thinking, but also creativity. 3. Read 100 books in advance To become a great teacher, you must study a variety of books about your subject. You should be at least 100 volumes behind your pupil. Books are a tremendous source of knowledge, and there are many benefits to you as a teacher when you begin to read, including an increase in vocabulary, sentence construction, knowledge accumulation, and brain training and exercise, among others. 4.Be an expert in your field A great instructor/teacher/educator is well-versed in every aspect of his subject. You should be able to answer all of your pupils' subject related inquiries regarding the topic you are presenting. 5. Be Respectful Focus on the topic at hand and avoid discussing politics, gender issues, religion, and current events. Focus on the subject matter in order to complete your topics on time and importantly to trigger learning. 6.Enjoy Teaching Teaching has never been considered a profession since it is a way of life. The spirit of teaching must be within you, which is why it is not a profession but a calling, because it is priceless and no amount of money can compare to its value to the student, community, country and most importantly to the future. 7. Enlighten your student Through your subject, prepare your students for the obstacles they may face in the future. Give them more knowledge than you have acquired. Let them see the future and your topic's beauty through your eyes and heart. 8.Enroll in graduate school and attend trainings Enrolling in graduate school is an important part of your life as a teacher because to be a teacher you must continue learning. You can also attend trainings which is relevant to your subject and profession. This things will improve your teaching skills, you will grow, you will find new ways of doing your duties and responsibilities as a teacher, and most importantly you learn and transfer new learnings to your students. If you love learning, your student will love and like learning too. The process of becoming a great teacher requires time, effort, knowledge, dedication, experience, and commitment. The teaching profession is more than what you think it is. Teaching is not about the teacher/instructor/lecturer it is about the learners, the transfer of knowledge, the concept and ideas, and most importantly the future (not clerical tasks). Before becoming great, one must learn first and no one is there yet.
