You already know now that a project is not something that you just do right away just because you were given the responsibility to handle a project. In the previous article in this page there was an advise given on how to start the project right! The project management cycle continue in this phase called project planning. The first function of management is planning. In project management there is also project planning, this is to confirm that any management endeavor requires planning. In Project planning task are being organized, resources are being quantified and determined, budget are being set, costs are identified, schedules are prepared and so on. Project planning establishes the guidelines that needed to be followed all throughout the project. Resources are being determined as to availability and usefulness. Project plans have to be approved by all the key executives of the company that has matters of the project. The scope of the project is tackled in this stage in order to breakdown the work structure (wbs).it is important that the big tasks are divided into small tasks to be achievable and doable and easily controlled and monitored. Purchase and inventory planning are taken into consideration to be able to estimate the time frame of procurement. To identify the suppliers and the availability of supplies including the pricing. Inventory should be determined and estimated upon depending on the size of the project and resources needed. Risk management and quality planning are in place to mitigate unexpected and expected scenario from happening. It is normal that there unexpected things that can happen that may interrupt and delay the completion of the project controlling and identifying those variables are important. Communication plan must identify relevant information to be disseminated regarding the project. Identifying who should receive such information will be vital for the project. The timing in giving the information also matters to be effective for the benefit of the project. Communication channels must be available depending on what platform is available and conducive to specific people in the project. This are just some of the things that you need to in project planning. Project planning requires a specific amount of time together with the people involve with the projects.
